The Brief

The North East and Yorkshire Energy Hub is at the centre of the region’s ambitious efforts to drive a low-carbon, clean-growth future. Funded by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Hub is one of five across the country, all focusing on helping the UK reach Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Some two years into the project, the Hub had little to no online presence. With green energy at the heart of political and societal discussions, there has never been a more important time for the Hub’s work to be seen and heard.

We were tasked with creating a recognisable identity, website and consistent communication tools to help showcase the Hub’s work, the wider green energy revolution and enhance accessibility of key information to interested community groups.

Our Work

Our teams worked collaboratively with the in-house Hub team to develop a new, vibrant brand and associated usage guidelines.

Once this was in place, our digital team and copywriters were able to develop a unique project website, written in plain English, to help the region understand what the Hub was all about. This included a digital map showcasing the breadth of secured funding across the six LEP areas.

In addition, our design team created a suite of editable templates for the Hub team to use for future presentations, reports, case studies and newsletters.

Results

As the Hub’s work is complex, wide-ranging and spans a wide geography, it was important to provide the audience with a straightforward understanding of its work. With the new brand in place, the Hub has been able to take strides forward in their building of relationships and the overall awareness of the project. This bright and colourful new brand represents the energetic and passionate values of the Hub, its partner LEPs and the projects it promotes.

DTW translated this very technical subject, into an engaging, easily accessible and informative website; with simple calls to action in place for the audience and featuring a range of downloadable resources.
