DTW summer 2011 work placement

DTW is offering the opportunity for students and recent graduates to apply for a work placement position with the company during summer 2011.

The initial placement will last for a period of six weeks during June and July and will be based primarily at our Guisborough office, although dependent on projects some further travel may be required. Dependent on the outcome of the initial six-week period, there may be an opportunity to extend the placement to a longer length.

We are looking for a motivated and driven individual who has a thirst to learn and further their PR Skills, as well as share their knowledge of the emerging and growing fields of digital PR and social media.

As a work placement student at DTW, you’ll get to experience life in a leading full-service PR, marketing and digital communications agency and work on projects for some of our major clients in the public and private sector.

The initial six-week placement is unsalaried, but DTW will make a contribution to travel expenses and direct costs incurred whilst working on client projects. Should the placement be extended beyond the initial six weeks, a salary will be paid (subject to negotiation).

Anyone wishing to apply for a placement position should complete the short task set out below and send this, along with a copy of your up to date CV, to Peter Whelan Jnr at DTW via pj@dtw.co.uk.

Exercise for work placement candidates

You are working with a client who is a leading Further Education college based in the Tees Valley. They are thinking about making better use of digital communications and social media to communication with potential students.

Produce a short report for the client which sets out a strategy for boosting their online profile through social media channels.

The report should demonstrate an understanding of the risks and benefits of utilising social media as a communications channel and an analysis of how social media is utilised across the Further Education and Higher Education sectors.

Questions regarding the above can be emailed to pj@dtw.co.uk, tweet @petewhelan or call 01287 610404.
